In order to assist the Member Associations with the implementation of Shuttle Time, Badminton Europe organized another Shuttle Time trainer/tutor course from 16 – 18 October 2015 in Trencin, Slovakia. Fourteen participants from eight countries and course leaders Tom Causer and Jeroen van Dijk started the course on Friday morning in Sportove centrum M-Sport Trencin.
The participants were introduced to the Shuttle Time resources and were taught how to use them effectively. After the introduction the participants were given their first tasks where they had to deliver shuttle time lessons to the other participants who acted as pupils. In the afternoon the participants gave feedback to the teacher who had just delivered a lesson.
The second day of the course started with a short quiz to recap what was learnt on the first day. This was followed by an explanation how to provide feedback optimally and a session regarding learning styles. Thereafter each participant had an individual talk with one of the course leaders to make them aware of the points they had to focus on in their next delivery.
The third day of the course was used to teach the participants how they can also deliver a lesson without talking. The goal of this exercise is to show them how to create different kind of awareness by the pupils. Finally feedback was given to the participants and certificates were handed out to those that passed.
Badminton Europe would like to thank the Slovakian Badminton Federation for their assistance in the practical organization of the course.
