Team Europe clawed back

Team Europe clawed back to beat Vietnam 3-1 at the Axiata Cup today after Scott Evans’ 17-21, 21-12, 19-21 defeat to Nguyen Hoang Nam in the opening men’s single match. Former world champion Nathan Robertson and partner Jenny Wallwork (England) proved their strengths by beating Duong Bao Duc/Thai Thi Hing Can 21-12, 26-24.

Then Spanish super talent Carolina Marin won her women's singles in a comfortable way against Vu Thi Trang 21-17, 21-15. It was Vladimir Ivanov's and Ivan Sozonov's (Russia) job to seal the deciding third point for Europe with a straight 21-14, 21-19 win over Duong Bao Duc/Ngyuen Hoang Nam.

Team Europe will face Asian All-Stars tomorrow at 10.00 CET.
