29 Member Associations qualified

BWF have today announced the World Ranking list which is used to determine the qualifiers for the 2012 London Olympic Games. The Olympic Qualification period started 2 May 2011 and ended Sunday 29 April 2012.

According to the list, 29 of Badminton Europe’s Member Associations have qualified players to the Olympics. With 29 associations being present at the Olympics, Europe is the best represented of all Continental Confederations.

Europe grabbed 17 spots in the men's singles, 25 spots in the women's singles, 4 men's doubles, 2 women's doubles and 6 mixed doubles have qualified.

Vladimir Ivanov (Russia), Christinna Pedersen (Denmark), Kamilla Rytter Juhl (Denmark) and Valeri Sorokina (Russia) have qualified for two events.

Member Associations and their respective NOC’s must no later than 31 May confirm to BWF whether their qualified players/pairs will take part at the Olympic Games.

The Olympic badminton event will commence 28 July and it ends 5 August.
