An unforgettable summer in Caldas

Federação Portuguesa de Badminton (the Portuguese Badminton Federation) will be co-hosting one of the biggest BEC’s development events in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal from 10 to 17 July.

This event is a combination of U15 training camp and the BWF/BEC Coach Education Level 2 course. 

This year, 54 players, 23 Level 2 coach candidates, and 13 staff will gather to Caldas da Rainha to have an awesome experience, learn from each other, and enjoy some warm summer days of non-stop badminton.

“The FPB is pleased to welcome the RSL BEC 2023 Summer School. With players and trainers from 29 different countries, we are sure that this event will be a successful days of joy honouring the sport of badminton. We wish our visitors all the best and a very good time in Portugal and in the Badminton Sports Center of Caldas da Rainha,” states the president of Federação Portuguesa de Badminton Horácio Bento de Gouveia.

The training camp will be led by two experienced coaches — Alan McIlvain from Scotland and Huaiwen Xu from Germany. Leading the Level 2 coaching course, we will have three experts to guide our 23 candidates — Wojciech Szkudlarczyk from Poland, Robert Wetherell from England, and Antti Rajasärkkä from Finland.

We have dedicated significant efforts to meticulous preparations and continuous, active communication with various stakeholders, particularly the host.
