Despite the second day of the Group Stage not being over yet and with one more to go, the scores already announce who will be making it out of Group A.

There are still more matches to come in this morning's session but we already know who will be playing in the semifinals from Group A. With their latest wins today, England and Denmark have secured their place for Friday.

Ukraine took the first point of their match against England with a win from Polina Buhrova against Abigail Holden in three games, 21-15, 22-24, 21-19. However, the next three matches have shifted the winning side to the English team who have won in men’s singles, women’s doubles, and men’s doubles.

The same fate awaited Scotland. Just like the match between Buhrova and Holden, Line Christophersen and Kirsty Gilmour took their encounter to three games but the Scottish player got to secure a win for her team. Viktor Axelsen, Maiken Fruergaard/ Sara Thygesen, and Kim Astrup/ Frederik Søgaard went on to win the following matches, already securing the victory for the Danes.

These scores and yesterday’s — Denmark won against Ukraine 5-0 and England defeated Scotland 4-1 — mean that both Denmark and England will be the two teams from Group A advancing to the semifinals. The remaining matches, with a full day of points to be fought for tomorrow, will be decisive to determine who finishes on top of their group.

Watch the last matches on badmintoneurope.tv and tune in at 04:00PM (CET) to see the teams Group B competing for important points.
