The 2023 European Mixed Team Championships kicked-off this morning at 10 with a clash between England and Scotland in Group A.

In the first match of the day, Marcus Ellis gave his comeback to the international stage after a six month injury break. Together with Lauren Smith he gave England a good start, winning the mixed doubles against Adam Hall and Julie Macpherson 21-16, 21-16 in 38 minutes.

Johnnie Torjussen extended the lead with a 21-10, 21-19 win over James Robertson.

Scotland is hoping to bounce back with Kirsty Gilmour currently leading in women's singles over Abigail Holden.
