From today on Europe’s top young talents meet in Belgrade, Serbia, for the 28th edition European Junior Championships.

No less than 32 teams will compete for the title of European Junior Team Champion in the first half of the event, after which the individual event will start with more than 300 players coming from 37 different countries.

The teams are playing in eight groups of four with only the winner of each group proceeding to the quarterfinals. Favorite to bring home the trophy is the top-seeded team from France as well as the defending champion Denmark.

The organisers are looking forward to 10 days of badminton action at the Athletic Hall Belgrade, a modern multifunctional sports facility where the World Athletics Indoor Championships took place earlier this year.

Top seeded teams:

1 - France
2 - Denmark
3/4 - Germany
3/4 - Spain
