In just three days, Badminton Europe’s historic event will have its biggest edition ever in Lahti, Finland.

40 years after the first ever BEC Summer School was organised, back in 1982, Badminton Europe will be welcoming players, coaches and staff to yet another edition of the confederation’s most historic event.

This year, the RSL BEC Summer School will be welcoming more people than ever. The huge and popular event will have 64 players in the training camp and 24 coaches taking part in the BWF/BEC Coach Education Level 2.

They will be in good hands, as three experts, one head coach, and eight members of staff, as well as three BEC staff members, will all be leading the training camp for talented junior players and the coach education course, making sure this is yet another successful edition of such a special event.

- It is awesome that we will have the biggest RSL BEC Summer School in Badminton Europe’s history, starting next week. It will be great to see players and coaches from all around Europe training, working, and having a great time together, especially after the long COVID-19 period, Development & High Performance Officer Tommi Saksa said.

The Summer School will be held in Pajulahti Olympic and Paralympic Training Centre, 120 kilometres from Finland’s capital city Helsinki, is located in a stunning location, with state-of-the-art sports facilities that are surrounded by captivating Finnish nature. The centre is highly experienced in hosting big sports events.

- I am looking forward to welcoming all the participants to my home country next week and working with the staff team. Badminton Europe already delivered the 2020 European Junior Championships successfully in these great facilities and I am confident that the RSL BEC Summer School will be just as wonderful, Saksa added.
