Ukrainian badminton federation organized first time Shuttle Time school league. It was held on 17-19 December at Kyiv Racket Sports Park.

The league was organised in co-operation with National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science.

A total of 10 regions, 14 teams and 50 participants took part in the tournament. Pupils were from 4-6 grades of classes. The top three teams received school sets as a prize. All participants received shuttlecocks, books and T-shirts. Gold was won by the team of Zhytomyr region, silver and bronze were won by the capital’s schools from Kyiv.

Oleksii Dniprov, the President of the Ukrainian Badminton Federation was delighted by the proceedings.

-We’re proud of our leading position in this Shuttle Time project. But there’s always space to grow. This year after educating 849 teachers that work with the over 200,000 kids all over Ukraine, we decided to start a new ambitious project – Shuttle Time school league. I’m sure it will be a good tradition that can give motivation for the young players to practice badminton and bring new champions for the country.
