Celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian Badminton Federation challenges people to rally the shuttle for 103 shots in honour of Latvia's independence.

Join in and get creative
Latvians and friends from all over the world are invited to take part in the challenge, and Lavazza will give gift sets to coffee lovers, including ground coffee, a cup, and promotional souvenirs to the 10 videos that receive the most likes.

Videos should be posted on Facebook with the hashtag #Lavazza103 up until November 21, 2021. The Latvian Badminton Federation encourages participants to those who are up for the challenge.

- Join from Latvia or anywhere else in the world. From an apartment or a villa, from the badminton hall or a garage, outdoors or indoors, in the yard, on the street, on the beach, in the garden or the forest… Enjoying the sun or despite the wind, rain and maybe even snow… Together with friends and family. It can be wherever and with whoever you like, the Latvian Badminton Federation said.

A great way to get everyone involved from home
Kristians Rozenvalds, General Secretary of the Latvian Badminton Federation, alludes to the versatility of badminton as one of the sports’ positive aspects, and despite the COVID-19 pandemic still going on, he also wants to get people to get involved and enjoy.

- Yes, Olympic badminton is played in the sports hall, with players battling each other. However, the first contact with badminton for most people in Latvia is without a net and lines, trying to set new records. This is an advantage of badminton, because almost everyone has held a badminton racket at least once, and that is why badminton is the second most popular sport in the world, Kristians Rozenvalds, General Secretary of the Latvian Badminton Federation, stated.

- In the current pandemic situation, several sport federations create fun challenges for the fans of their sports, such as in running, rollerblading or cycling. That is the task of federations - to challenge people to play sports even in a pandemic. This is why the Latvian Badminton Federation also has its own challenge. This year, it is rallying the shuttle for 103 shots, next year already 104 times, and it will be one more every year, Rozenvalds said.

- I think 103 shots is not that easy even for those who trained in badminton, because it is hard to stay focused for a long time. You also need physical endurance. Even the strongest players in the world rarely hit more than 100 shots in competition conditions, Rozenvalds explained.

Do not be afraid to try and achieve the mark and upload your videos on Facebook with the hashtag #Lavazza103 before November 21. The 10 participants who get the most likes before November 23 at 18:00, will be the winners of the challenge competition.
