Carolina Marin: Let’s keep working

Carolina Marin (Spain) has moved two spots up on the women’s singles world ranking list to occupy position no. 8.

The Asian tour ended for her with semifinals in Malaysia Masters and Thailand Masters, in between those two tournaments she reached the finals in the Indonesia Masters, losing to Ratchanok Intanon (Thailand) in a three-setter.

Overall, she has received 6420 points from Malaysia, 7800 points from Indonesia and 4900 points from Thailand and currently standing on position no. 8 with a total of 63120 points. After the three-week tour Marin wrote on her Instagram account:

-Back to Spain with good feelings to start the year. Let’s keep working!

Other changes

Thailand Masters quarterfinalist Qi Xuefei (France) has moved two spots up to occupy position no. 39. 

Mixed doubles winners in the same tournament - Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith have moved two spots up to occupy position no. 11. In the finals, the English pair beat Indonesia’s Hafiz Faizal/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. 

Denmark’s Niclas Nohr/Sara Thygesen have moved four spots up and are now standing on position no. 46 on the mixed doubles world ranking list.
