The Danish women’s double, Mette Poulsen and Alexandra Bøje, have high ambitions for the future.

This week French Open is played in Paris, France. The Danish women's doubles, Alexandra Bøje and Mette Poulsen, were facing the eight seeded Kim So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong from Korea in the opening round. The Koreans were too strong for the Danes and won 21-19 21-14.

- I think our performance was good. We are coming straight from Dubai and have had some trouble with illness. We knew it would be tough today, but I think that we managed to fight until the end. I am proud that we are so close, Mette Poulsen said.

Straight from Dubai
Bøje and Poulsen just landed from Dubai, where they played an International Challenge tournament last week. This week they compete on a higher level.

- In this tournament all players play very well so we have to be ready for the first round. Last week we had some matches to play our games in, Bøje stated.

- Our ambitions are high. We are a new pair and have only played around seven tournaments together. Our goal is the European Championships in the spring and go for a medal. I think we have the level to compete against some of the best European women’s doubles. There is still a lot to work on, but we are heading in the right direction, Poulsen added.
