Carolina Marin is the only European women's singles player left at Denmark Open.

The Spanish star, Carolina Marin, defending Olympic champion and three times world champion, is back from her injury and doing well. She is through to the quarter-finals after winning a close match 22-20 29-27 against Cheung Ngan Yi from Hong Kong.

Back in January 2019 Marin got a knee injury and she has almost been out since. She came back from her injury a couple months ago and started to play tournaments again. She won China Open and is now ready for Denmark Open.

- Apart of my match today I am feeling really good, I do not have any problem with my knee, and I feel confident with my knee and with how I am playing, not today, but yesterday and at China Open. I just want to keep improving myself and my game plan, and then try to do my best, Marin said.

Too many mistakes
Even though Marin managed to win her match on Thursday, she was not all satisfied.

- Well, sometimes you play like s**t and you have everything on your own site. I mean, I play against my opponent but also myself, because I played really bad. I made so many mistakes, the Spanish super star said.

As a lot of the other European players, Marin also like to play here in Odense, Denmark. She has been playing in the Danish league for Team Skælskør Slagelse.

- I really like to play here, because we are in Europe. I played here in Denmark in the Danish league. I love to play here, and I have the Danish support.
