Poland and Slovenia will be hosting Badminton Europe major events in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The European Club Championships heads back to Poland, and Slovenia will be hosting two European Championships in two years.

The decisions were made at the Board of Directors meeting in Leuven, Belgium, last week.

Major events in Poland
The 2020 European Club Championships (ECC) will take place in Bialystok, Poland. In 2018 the city, successfully, also hosted the ECC and in 2020 the best teams in Europe return to the eastern Polish city. The 2020 European Club Championships will take place from 23-27 June 2020.

- I am glad to see, that the ECC is going back to Poland. In 2018 it was a success, and I am looking forward to going back, Badminton Europe President, Peter Tarcala said.

As announced in late 2018, Poland will also be hosting the 2020 European Junior Championships from 6-15 November 2020. The hosting city is yet to be confirmed.

Double up for Slovenia
In 2021 and 2022 the talents and the most experienced players will be going to Slovenia:

The 2021 European U17 Championships will be hosted in Podcetrtek, and one year later the 2022 European Senior Championships will take place in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. Exact dates are still to be confirmed.

- Slovenia has a long tradition hosting the RSL BEC Summer School, and I am happy to see that two of our major events are now being allocated to Slovenia, Tarcala said.

- I have big expectations. The U17 championships is the first time we meet the future stars on the international stage, and the European Seniors is our biggest event in terms of players. I am sure this will be great, he added.

The next major event announcement, the allocation of the 2020 European Senior Championships, will happen shortly.

NB: all allocations are pending hosting contracts being signed.
