Denmark is unbeatable in the European U17 Team Championships.

They won in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2017. In 2019 Denmark did it again despite of a shaky start against Serbia in the final.

The Serbian underdogs were off to the start they had hoped for by winning the mixed doubles. Mihajlo Tomic and Andjela Vitman won in straight games, 22-20 21-11, against William Kryger Boe and Emilia Nesic.

The better man
In the singles categories Denmark dominated. Mads Juel Moeller and Anna Siess Ryberg both won in straight games taking Denmark to the lead 2-1 before the men’s doubles.

- I am happy to win the match and give the point to my team. I knew that the mixed doubles match was going to be a tough match, so I had prepared for this situation. I was a bit shaky in the beginning, but I was the better man this time, Juel Moeller said.

Aiming for gold
William Kryger Boe and Victor Ørding Kauffmann became match winners for the Danes. The Danish men’s doubles won 21-14 21-18, against Sergej Lukic and Mihajlo Tomic.

- We played a very fine tournament. We only lost two matches, so overall it is a very fine performance, Frank Larsen, coach of the Danish team said.

- Of course we focus on development, but we have a strong team and strong players, and hopefully we can also go home with some individual medals, he added.
