For the first time in years Wales is back at the European U17 Team Championships.

On Friday the 2019 European U17 Team Championships began, and with Wales entering the court it was time for a comeback: For the first time in years the Welsh players participate in the team event.

Archie Bult played the men’s singles and the men’s doubles for Wales against Estonia.

- It is good to be back to be honest, and I hope that our level will improve moving forward, Archie Bult said.

Win for Whiteman
Wales lost 4-1 against Estonia. Women’s singles player Aimie Whiteman won her match against Catlyn Kruus –an unexpected result for her.

- I did not expect to win. It took me one and a half game to get into the match. I picked up pace, took it easy and tried to relax a bit, Aimie Whiteman said.

- It is so nice to be here. The atmosphere is amazing, and it is great to be at a team event for once. You have a team which supports you, and you are a part of something bigger. I really like it, she added.
