Big loss for Danish Anders Antonsen in the final at the World Championships.

Antonsen was off to a great start leading 6-2, but from that point Momota dominated. The Japanese World number one won the first game 21-9.

Kento Momota is for sure the one to beat if you want to achieve big results in men’s singles. On Sunday he showed that again. Kento Momota defended his title from 2018 winning 21-3 in the second game against Anders Antonsen.

- I did not think it would go this smoothly. Probably I am the one being most surprised, Momota said.

- I do not remember the feeling I had when winning last year because the feeling winning today is much stronger, and I am really happy, he added.

No chance
After the match Anders Antonsen tried to explain what happened.

- Physically I was not in the best condition. To be honest I was super tired, and once he got into his rhythm and flow, he played with good quality, I had absolutely no chance. It is of course disappointing, but it is what it is, Antonsen said.

- I am slowly getting stronger and stronger, and that is still the main focus. I think I have some good things tactically and technically, so it is the physics that is in focus now.
