As expected the world number one is ready for the semifinals at the World Championships.

There was no doubt about the result in the semifinals between the overall favourite, Kento Momota, Japan, and Malaysian talent Lee Zii Jia.

Kento Momota took a convincing win, 21-12 21-8, leaving no doubt that the 2018 world champion is here to defend his title.

- In the beginning there were some of the points I was not that happy about, but all in all it was a good match for me, Momota said.

- In the beginning of the week I struggled a bit because of jetlag, but now I am feeling well and not tired anymore.

Great conditions
At the World Championships in 2018 Momota dominated, and the Japanese star feels that his current level is not far from his level at last year’s event.

- I got used to the routine, and I feel better. I am better getting myself together, and I am not stressing too much or getting too tired during competitions. Momota explained.

- I am in great conditions ahead of tomorrow’s semifinal.

In his semifinal Momota will play either Jonatan Christie, Indonesia or Sai B. Praneeth from India.
