Johanna Magnusson and Emma Karlsson are ready for the second round at their first World Championships.

The former European junior champions met fellow Europeans Alzbeta Basova/Michaela Fuchsova from Czech Republic in the first round. After two close opening games the Swedes came out strong, eventually winning in three games 21-14 18-21 21-8.

- It was really fun to be on court today. It is cool to be here at the World Championships, Johanna Magnusson said.

- It means a lot to get the experience here and it helps us to be ready for the future, Emma Karlsson added.

- We do not know them
In the second round Magnusson and Karlsson will be playing Kititharakul/Prajongjar from Thailand. The Thais are seeded 11, but the two World Championships rookies are ready for the challenge.

- We do not know our opponents, but we want to go on court and bring everything we have, Karlsson said.

- It is a bonus for us moving forward, but we are looking forward to our next match, Magnusson stated.
