Today’s first session saw Primorye Vladivostok have strolled through to the quarter-finals after their third win in as many ties.

Ivan Sozonov believes that the team needs to focus on the next match in order to bring back the gold and to not get ahead of themselves.
- We need to play well in all of the matches. All of the tournament is about preparing for the big tournaments coming up with the Olympics coming up, so we need to keep our match confidence. It is an important year, Sozonov said.
The former European Champion also stated that this tournament is still important for preparation ahead of the Olympic Qualification which is now underway.
- We are hoping but not getting ahead of ourselves. We are very experienced at this tournament, and we have won the title before, but we are just thinking about the next match and not the title, he added.

The club played their last tie of the group stage, the Italian team have won the tie against Fiederball Schëffleng.
Despite not being as strong this year as previous years, the club are into the quarter-finals and still have a chance to achieve a medal.
