CALVI NETWORK BC Milano has won against RSP/RBS while the Primorye Vladivostok has beaten BK 1973 DELTACAR Benátky nad Jizerou from the Czech Republic.

BC Milano came into this tie this afternoon, with one goal in mind and that was to win the tie with minimal weaknesses, and that is what occurred, a 5-0 victory for the club from Italy.

The club from Russia has brought an incredibly strong line-up to Junglinster and got off to a good start winning 4-1 against BK 1973. With the Czech Republic club winning the Mixed Doubles contest.

We have come for the Gold

Vladimir Malkov who represented Primorye Vladivostok in the Men’s Singles is in full belief that the club can retain the title this year.

The Russian wants to continue his focus in Junglinster after a disappointing European Games in Minsk.

- I think we should do it, that is why we have come here to the Club Championships. Of course, we need to take it step-by-step, we do not really want to think that far, but everyone is. Malkov said.

- I am more mentally tired from the European Games, physically, I feel okay. For me, I felt a bit upset in Minsk, and I need to keep my focus here in Junglinster, he added.

- No matter who I am playing, each match is practice for me mentally as well, the Men’s Singles star continued.

Five-star BC Milano

The club from Italy despite not being as strong of a team as last year’s Club Championships will still feel that they have a point to prove.

Wisnu Putro and Megumi Sonoda who won the Mixed Doubles match at the beginning of the tie, believe that they allowed the team to play with less pressure.

- For us it is important to win every match and that all of the team are good. Our win perhaps made it more relaxed for our teammates who played after us, Putro said.

- We tried on court to play our best, the matches are not so much the same level, but we just went on there to get the result, he added.
