Kirsty Gilmour is ready for her third continental final, and now it is time to take the final step for the Scot representing Team GB.

Kirsty Gilmour finished runner-up at the 2016 and 2017 European Championships and at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. At the 2nd European Games in Minsk she is now ready for another final.

The Scot won the semi-final against Line Kjaersfeldt from Denmark 13-21 21-16 21-8.

- I got off to the wrong start. I had a game plan in mind, but credit to Line, she came and countered that tactics, so we had to make a good change. I am happy, that I manage to turn it around, Gilmour said.

Eyes set on gold
Back home in Scotland Gilmour has three silver medals and one bronze medal from major tournaments. In the European Games final, she will play her good friend Mia Blichfeldt, Denmark, who beat Russian Evgeniya Kosetskaya in the semi-final.

- It is 100 percent time for Kirsty (to take the final step). I came for gold. I will enjoy today, but in the past, I have made the mistake being like “aw, I am in the final”. It will go toe-to-toe, and my eyes are set on that Gold medal, Gilmour said.

Gilmour leads 2-0 in the head-2-head against Blichfeldt before the European Games final. The last meeting was in Malaysia Open 2018.
