Both Women’s Singles players Line Kjærsfeldt and Mia Blichfeldt have advanced to the quarterfinals of the European Games.

Kjærsfeldt played slightly earlier and won comfortably against Airi Mikella from Finland in straight games.

Blichfeldt who played after the current European Games Champion needed three games to get the better of Israel’s Kesenia Polikarpova.

Kjærdfeldt smoothly through

The Dane went into this one as the clear favourite and all of the pressure was on Kjærsfeldt after the holder of the Men’s Singles competition was knocked out, by Felix Burestedt of Sweden.

Kjærsfeldt took this match as professionally as she could with a 21-12 win in the first game followed by a 21-5 win in the second.

- Today I had a really good feeling on court, I had good speed in my legs and it was difficult for her (Ari Mikella) to do anything, Line Kjærsfeldt said after the match

- I am here now, and I will try and do my best to defend my title, she added.

Blichfeldt into the last eight

The 21-year old is looking to take the European Games title herself this year as she moves closer to be one of the best in Europe.

This match was not as easy as it looked, the Dane won the first game quite comfortably (9-21), but back came her opponent for revenge, Polikarpova won the second, (23-21).

The third match as always going to be close, with the pressure on the young Danish Women’s Singles player, but Blichfeldt eventually got the job done with a (17-21) score.
