Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen have qualified for the knockout stages of the European Games as group winners.

The Danes played out a professional performance against Robin Tabeling and Jelle Maas in the group final this afternoon and won in straight games.

Keeping the focus until the end

The pair who are representing Denmark at the European Games knew that if they did not turn up, then there would be a tough match on their hands, speaking after their match yesterday.

Their assumptions would be correct, the first game was anybody’s to take with the score 20-20 before the Danish Duo turned on when it mattered to win 22-20.

The second game looked like it was going in favour of the Dutch pair, but that was not to be as the Danes turned the style on once again

Looking forward to knockouts

Astrup and S. Rasmussen are happy with the way things have gone today and they are now looking forward.

- We felt more comfortable on the court today. It has been as we had hoped for so far this group stage, a little bit better each day and I am very satisfied with our performance today, Kim Astrup said.

- They also bring a lot of energy on court. It was important for us to win this match because now we are seeded in the other half, Anders S. Rasmussen said.

- It is a big advantage to go as number one than number two, so we are satisfied with the result today, he added.
