Misha Zilberman is through to the knockout stages as a group winner after beating Eetu Heino in straight games in the final match of the group this morning.

Zilberman won the first game in comfortable style before finishing off the match in the second to secure a place in the knockout stage as the winner of Group E.

Feeling better

Zilberman admitted that he has not been at his best so far in the tournament but today was a lot different.

The 30-year old, despite being critical about his performances on the first two days, has won all three of his group matches.

- Today I felt better than the first two days because in the first match it was very hard, I have been nervous because of a different atmosphere, Misha Zilberman said.

- It is not the European Championships; it is the European Games.

- I did not feel confident before the match today after the first two days, I was expecting three sets or even a defeat. I was able to play better and was able to show my game, he added.

Prioritising a category

The Israeli badminton player is present at the European Games in two categories but is prioritising his singles game.

- Of course, playing two categories is very hard but playing in Mixed Doubles at the European Games is something special that son and mum will qualify and play, he said.

- Hopefully, I can continue playing as I did today, and to play my best game to see how much further I can go, Zilberman continued.
