Strong youngsters in Lithuania

The RSL Lithuanian International 2019 ended today, on 9thof June with the finals of all events taking place in Panevėžys, Lithuania.

On 6th to 9th of June the Lithuanian International got underway. There was a dominant sense of young and promising players.

First title for Karpov

The European U17 Champion in 2017 Georgii Karpov from Russia won his first title as a senior, confirming his excellent physical condition.

After winning out tough opponents during the tournament, the Russian managed to get the better of his opponent Jeppe Bruun from Denmark with 21-10, 21-19 and climbed on the top of the podium.

The Russian young star was also so close to winning the final of the Mixed Doubles with his partner Viktoriia Kozyreva, however the match ended in favor of their opponents Debora Jille and Ties Van Der Lecq from the Netherlands in two straight games.

The Dutch not only participated in two of the five finals today, but also climbed twice on the top of the podium.

Debora Jille dominated in the final day in Panevėžys, Lithuania and gave an excellent performance throughout her career.

In the Women’s Doubles, she and her partner Alyssa Tirtosentono comfortably  beat the number two seeds Christine Busch and Amalie Schulz from Denmark with a score of 21-18, 21-10, bringing back home a gold medal. The second one as a pair after their triumph on April in the VICTOR Croatian International 2019.

While in the category of the Mixed Doubles, Debora Jille won her first title with her partner TiesVan Der Lecq, in a battle against their opponents Georgii Karpov and Viktoriia Kozyreva from Russia. After an easily victory in the first game with 21-14, the Dutch won the Russians with a score of 23-21 in the second game.

Women’s Singles: France on the top

In the category of the Women’s Singles, Léonice Huet from France did her best and managed to knocked experienced competitors out in this tournament.

In the final, Huet faced a tough opponent, Holly Newall from Scotland, who was also in good shape. After a thrilling first game with a score of 22-20, Huet came out victorious over her Scottish opponent with a score of 21-10.

Polish domination in the Men's Doubles

In an absorbing final in the Men’s Doubles that lasted almost an hour, Robert Cybulski and Pawel Pieryja from Poland won the match and gave an impressive performance for the crowd.

Poland’s newly-formed pairing of Cybulski and Pieryja faced the number one seeds Emil Lauritzen and Mads Muurholm from Denmark. They fought intensely in the second game, finding their steady way of play and the match eventually ended in favor of the Polish with 21-19 in the deciding.
