The first half of today’s finals gave the audience a three-game thriller in the first match, as well as both singles category matches.
France win Mixed Doubles
The first final saw the number one seeds of Mixed Doubles beaten by Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue, coming from behind to win after three games.
Delrue and Gicquel also beat Marvin Seidel and Linda Efler from Germany earlier today to reach the final. Lamsfuss and Herttrich lead a convincing lead after the first game, but the French pair came back fighting.
With a 21-19 win in the third game, it handed the title to the number four seeds, who made the final at the Denmark International but lost out at the last hurdle.
In the Women’s Singles final, it was Lianne Tan representing Europe, but unfortunately fell to a straight game defeat against Thailand’s Phittayaporn Chaiwan.
Tan can be happy with her performance throughout the week though, beating players higher ranked than her since the first round.
Gemke makes it two in two
Rasmus Gemke, made it two wins out of two against Felix Burestedt in the Men’s Singles final, beating the Swede in straight games to take the title.
Despite Burestedt doing all he could to hold the Great Dane off, Gemke was just too strong for the 24-year old Centre of Excellence player.
