From 24-30 June, badminton will get underway at the European Games 2019 in Minsk. This time, Felix Burestedt from Sweden revealed his expectations for the biggest multi-sports event in Europe in a ‘Question & Answer’ session.
Badminton Europe’s Centre of Excellence player, Felix Burestedt, will be participating the European Games this year. For the 24-year-old, it will be his first multi-sports event. The Swede will be competing in the Men’s Singles.
Felix, it’s your first European Games. What does it mean for you to be able to participate in the event?
Burestedt: It means a lot. It is a big event. It seems that it was very nice the last time. I want to collect as many experiences as possible and participate in all major events. This is a good step for me, I am really looking forward to it.
What expectations do you have from the event regarding the atmosphere?
Burestedt: I expect it to be a different atmosphere than I am used to. It is
going to be fun, and I hope that a lot of people will come and watch.
What are your goals for the tournament?
Burestedt: I want to achieve a good result, maybe I can surprise in the tournament. Reaching the quarterfinals would be amazing.
How do you prepare for the event?
Burestedt: I have been preparing a lot for the tournament, as it has a high priority in my calendar. I have been going through a tough build-up phase. Soon, I will be going into the tournament phase. Hopefully, I will be in a good shape.
