From 24-30 June, badminton will get underway at the European Games 2019 in Minsk. This time, Ronan Labar from France revealed his expectations for the biggest multi-sports event in Europe.

Living in Paris, Ronan Labar is representing France at the European Games this year. For the 30-year old, it will be his first multi-sports event.

- I am really excited about it, Labar said.

Next to badminton, 14 other sports are represented at the European Games in Minsk.

- I am proud to have the chance to represent France and compete with all other French athletes, he added.

First time in Minsk

Labar, who is competing in the Mixed as well as Men’s Doubles, is looking forward to the French team spirit in Minsk.

- I have never been to Minsk before, but I am sure that the atmosphere inside the French team will be great, as always.

Labar will only be participating in the Men’s Doubles, as he is not qualified in the Mixed category. Regarding his first Games, the two-time Bronze and one-time Silver medallist at European Championships is ambitious.

- We will go to Minsk with the gold medal in our minds. Winning a medal would already be amazing.
