The Men's Double category at the National Elite Training Center will receive new constellations from the beginning of March.

Mads Conrad-Petersen/Mathias Boe and Mads Kolding/Carsten Mogensen respectively will start new collaborations.

- As players outside the elite program, Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mathias Boe have been free to start a partnership, and they have decided, says sports manager, Jens Meibom.

- This happens after Mads Conrad-Petersen returned in November to take a self-chosen break from the sport to spend more time with his family, while Mathias Boe moved to Dubai in December, he added.

- Subsequently, Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mathias Boe have contacted Badminton Denmark with a view to initiating cooperation with the union, and this has been positive about the sporting leadership in Badminton Denmark, as it sees a sporting perspective in the partnership, Meibom continued.

- The sporting management has previously discussed the possibility of putting Conrad and Boe together, as in the Thomas Cup contexts we have seen them play well together.

- The timing and circumstances have not been present before, but now is the opportunity to try them out as a couple, and we look forward to that, he added.

New pairs in March

Mathias Boe moves home to Denmark again, and he and Conrad will both start training at the National Elite Training Center in early March, in order to be re-admitted to Badminton Denmark's elite program.

At the same time, Mads Kolding and Carsten Mogensen initiate a new partnership in Men's Doubles, provisionally until summer 2019. Anders Skaarup/Kim Astrup and Frederik Søgaard/avid Daugaard continue as couples.

- The creation of new constellations always gives a new dynamic to the training, and I am sure that the new partnerships will give renewed energy and intensity to the Men's training, Meibom said.

- It will be exciting to follow the two new couples. At the same time, it is also always a bit uncertain to form new constellations, he added.

- We therefore now see the time up until summer 2019 with these constellations, after which we look at the category again in the same way as we always do with all our double constellations in July/August.

Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen will play their last tournament together to All England next week, when the couple is registered.

Mathias Boe and Mads Conrad-Petersen have only a few world ranking points, which is why they will play a number of European tournaments with Poland Open in late March as the first tournament together.

Mads Kolding and Carsten Mogensen will start their partnership at the end of March at the Singapore Open.
