Dziolko looking to round off 2018 in style

Poland’s Adrian Dziolko is hoping to build on his Hellas Open win back in October, as he comes into his final tournament of the year.

The Men’s Singles star is coming off of a last 16 exit in the Hungarian Championships, but looks back to that win in Greece as inspiration coming into this one.

- It is a really good feeling when you are winning a tournament, it is what we practice so hard for so it means a lot when you win, he said. 

Dziolko is seeded fourth for the tournament in Turkey, but is not letting his high seeding affect his mentality ahead of the competition.

- Of course, with being high seeded there is always a lot of pressure, but I try not to think about it and just play to 100 per cent of my ability.

The Pole is hoping for a good result in Ankara to put himself in a good position to achieve his goals for 2019.

- In 2018, I played some good tournaments and some bad, but for 2019 I want to qualify for the European games and put myself in a good position to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.

Hometown hope in Women’s Singles

The home crowd will be expectant in the Women’s Singles with Turkey being home to all three of the top seeds in the category.

The Turkish heroes, Neslihan Yigit, Aliye Demirbag and Ozge Bayrak will all be going for glory in front of their home fans and they will be confident that they can give them something to celebrate.

All three of those women are ranked within the World’s top 100 players, so they will all be hoping to round out their year with a trophy come Thursday.

Also, in the Women’s Doubles, Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlican Inci, will be gunning for glory on home turf.

The World number 41 are the top seed for the competition so will be looking to back that up with victory in Ankara.
