Belgium or England for the final showdown in Copenhagen

Day 2 of the European Mixed Team Qualification in Milton Keynes got underway on Saturday morning with Belgium taking an impressive win against Italy, with no matches conceded.

In the afternoon session, England managed to get the job done against a Hungary side who had a notable difference of experience.

The hosts managed to win four of five matches making the final showdown between themselves and Belgium tomorrow.

It was a team effort

The morning session brought a relatively comfortable win for Belgium in the tie against Italy. 

Men’s Doubles player, Freek Golinski, believes that there has been a team effort to make sure of the two ties against Hungary and Italy.

- We have worked as a team and really gone for the win. Everyone has shown a good level today, Freek Golinski told Badminton Europe.

- It is a big challenge playing the first seed, we have got nothing to lose so we will just go on court and play our best, Elias Bracke said.


England get the job done

The hosts managed to take four of five matches with all of the doubles categories taking their matches as well as Rajiv Ouseph in the Men's Singles.

Hungary managed to get themselves on the scoreboard with Women's Singles star Agnes Kerosi taking the Women's Singles win against Abigail Holden.

Women's Doubles player, Chloe Birch, believes that the spirit will be high in the camp tomorrow, when England takes on Belgium.

Birch also stated that playing at home, and will bring a big advantage to the team ahead of the final tomorrow.

- I think England is always very good at fighting and we will have the fighting spirit.

- Being at home, the fans will be behind us and hopefully, that will go in our favour and that we will all play well.
