Viktor Axelsen has revealed that he is hoping to be back in full training within the next three weeks ahead of the PBL in India.

Axelsen recently took a break from the racket while he had treatment on an ankle injury which he found out after the Denmark Open which forced him to withdraw from the French Open a week later.

The Danish star is currently five weeks into the scheduled eight-week rehab program that he and his team have set.

Rehab is going well

Axelsen believes that the schedule is on time and that he should be back into the higher levels of training soon.

- I had a plan of around eight weeks and right now I am week five. I am slowly getting back on court and getting back to good intensity training, Viktor Axelsen told his fans on YouTube.

- I am not at the level where I want to be yet, but it requires some patience and hopefully I will be back in the next few weeks, he commented.

I am happy to be back at training because it makes me happier than when I am not training.

When is Axelsen back on court?

The 24-year old is expecting to compete in the PBL (Premier Badminton League) which will take place in India towards the end of the year.

- The next time that I will be back on court again will be the PBL. I will be leaving here in late December, Axelsen said.

- The next time that I will be back on the BWF World Tour will be the Indonesian and Malaysian Masters in January, where I hope to be back in my best form, he added.
