Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge reached the quarter-final at the SaarLorLux Open. Now, the Men’s Doubles pair has to face the new Swedish-German pair, Richard Eidestedt/Peter Kaesbauer.
21-10 and 21-10 in two straight games is the result for Marcus Ellis/Chris Langridge on Day 3 in Saarbrucken.
The Englishmen won against the German pair, Jones Ralfy Jansen/Josche Zurwonne, and reached the quarter-finals of the BWF World Tour 100 tournament.
- We expected a tougher match. We played against them before, which was a tough battle. I think we played very well, we were consistent, and we defended very strong, Marcus Ellis said after the match.
- We were solid, organised, and played tactically well. We did not give them too many points. We also showed that in Denmark, that we are annoying to play against, Chris Langridge added.
A new opponent
Tomorrow, the English pair has to compete against the multi-national pair, Richard Eidestedt from Sweden and Peter Kaesbauer from Germany.
- If we play our best, we do not have to think too much about our tactic, Marcus Ellis said.
- We can focus more on us than on our opponents, if we play the best level we can do, Chris Langridge added.
