For Rasmus Gemke, it has been a successful week in Paris, even though he lost against Chinese player, Shi Yuqi, in the semi-final at the YONEX French Open.

On Saturday, Rasmus Genke had to face the currently world-ranked number two in the semi-final in Men’s Singles at the YONEX French Open.

The match between him and Shi Yuqi from China lasted 47 minutes and two games in total. The result: Gemke lost with 11-21 and 16-21.

In general, the Dane was happy about his performance on court:

- Shi Yuqi was better in the first set, I started better in the second one, and played some of the best badminton I have shown this week. In total, I am happy about how I played, Gemke said after the match.

Next step: Germany

For the Danish Men’s Singles player, it has been a good week in Paris. He won against Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus and reached the semi-finals. Next week, Gemke is participating in the SarLorLux Open in Germany.

- I played against some really good players here in Paris, which was a great experience. And it was amazing to play in front of this crowd.

- It would be great, if I can take the level I played here to Germany. I am going to the right direction and am happy about my improvement.
