Rasmus Gemke reached the semi-final at the YONEX French Open after an intense match against his opponent, Kantaphon Wangcharoen from Thailand.

After 1 hour and 18 minutes Rasmus Gemke was winning the quarterfinal match against Kantaphon Wangcharoen with 12-21, 21-11 and 21-17 on Friday.

After laying back in the first game, the Dane managed to come back. Overall, he was happy with his performance on court:

- It was a tough match. I was a bit nervous in the first set, which I lost. But I managed to come back and had a good defence, Gemke summarised the match.

Tomorrow Gemke is playing against Shi Yuqi from China.

- It will be a good experience for me to play against the world-ranked number two, Gemke said.
