Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva won against the current number two in the world, Misaki Matsutomo/ Ayaka Takahashi, and reached the semi-finals at the YONEX French Open 2018.

21-8 and 21-16 is the final result for Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva against the Japanese pair Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi on Friday.

The Bulgarian sisters reached the semi-finals at the YONEX French Open after an intense match that nearly lasted one hour.

For the Women’s Double pair beating the world-ranked number two was quite a surprise:

- It was an unexpected result for us today, we lost the last three matches against them. We wanted to enjoy playing on court, and we are very happy with our performance, Stefani Stoeva said after the match. 

- We can still not believe it. But now, we want to fight for more, Gabriela Stoeva aded.

Semi-final on Saturday

After winning on Friday, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva have to face Lee So Hee and Shin Seung Chan from South Korea, who are currently world-ranked number eight, tomorrow.

- We have to stay focussed and give our best and have to enjpy playing like today, Stefani Stoeva said.
