After his win in Paris, Gemke was nearly speechless after his win in Paris:

- It was very tough today. So, I am almost out of words now, Hans-Kristian was challenging me a lot on court. I was a bit nervous today, it is always difficult to play against a compatriot. Of course, I am happy right now, he said.
