Anders Antonsen surprisingly knocked out Viktor Axelsen after three tough games at the Denmark Open. The Danish duel got underway in Axelsen’s hometown, Odense.

21-10, 12-21 and 21-19, that is the final result for Anders Antonsen against Viktor Axelsen in the round of 16 at the DANISA Denmark Open.

- I was very motivated, my plan was to give everything and then see what it would bring. And in the end I won, which makes me very happy, Antonsen said after the match.

- Playing against a compatriot at home is always weird. And today the match took also place in Viktor’s hometown. But it was a great experience for me.

Viktor Axelsen was disappointed after the match:

- It was not a good match for me. But Anders and I know each other very well, I think that is why I lost today. But Anders deserved to win, Axelsen said.
