Robin Tabeling & Jelle Maas (The Netherlands) did something they dreamt off: They reached the final of the Dutch Open 2018! In two games they overcame the resistence of Mathias Bay-Schmidt and Lasse Molhede (Denmark).
- It is amazing to be in the final in front of our home crowd, Maas stated to Badminton Europe after his match.
- We played very well the last couple of days and we got a lot of support!
Tabeling added to that:
- Not only we had a good run, but our opponents as well. One does not just reach the semi-finals here and I am glad that we have overcome them as well.

Mental game
In the final Tabeling & Maas will meet Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pangkaryanira & Ade Yusuf Santoso (Indonesia) who already beat their compatriots Jacco Arends & Ruben Jille yesterday.
. I think it is important not to play in their game, because they are better than us in that. So the tactical aspect will be very important tomorrow, Tabeling stated about their next match.
Tabeling and Maas think that the support can also help them a lot in the game tomorrow
- Also the mental game will make the difference tomorrow. It definitely makes a difference when you hear 1000 people cheer for you compared to when your nothing.

Hopefully better next year
Unfortunately there will be no all European men’s doubles final as Josche Zurwonne and Jones Ralfy Jansen (Germany) lost to the Indonesian pair today. According to them it was not their best performance.
- We could give our best today. But actually I would really to play Dutch Open again next year again, Jansen commented after their match.
- We really like to play here in Holland, so we are sorry for our bad performance today. We have two or three tournaments coming so we are looking forward to perform the same level as yesterday and the couple of weeks before, Zurwonne added.
