The qualification stage of the YONEX Dutch Open draws to a close this afternoon, there have been plenty of wins for Europe in the doubles category.

The first came from French Mixed Doubles pair Maxime Briot and Sharone Bauer, who won in straight games in an all European clash, against Timo Stoffelen and Chloe Mayer from the Netherlands.

There were also ten other wins to note from European players with play continuing with the possibility of more making it to the First round of matches which start later today.

Scotts secure a draw into the first round!

One victory from Europe came in the names of Adam Hall and Julie Macpherson who won comfortably against Fabien Delrue and Juliette Moinard from France.

The pair took the first game in style with a 21-12 result before securing the match in the second with an identical scoreline to send themselves into the next round of the tournament.

The two will now go onto face Danish pair Niclas Nohr and Sara Thygesen in the next round who have experience playing against Hall and McPherson.

Controlling the match is key!

Adam Hall, speaking to Badminton Europe showed his delight of winning against the European Junior Champions but did reveal that they were aware of the threat that they would bring.

Hall spoke about how both him and Macpherson controlled the match, despite their opponents having momentum at times.

The Scott is looking forward to a tough match against the number two seeds in Niclas Nohr and Sara Thygesen in the next round.

-We're happy with the game we played today. We were a bit wary beforehand as they've just won the European Juniors so knew that they would be high in confidence.

- But we managed to control the game well, even when they got a bit of momentum at the start of the second.

 - We're now looking forward to the next match against Nohr and Thygesen, we played them in Spain a few weeks ago so will be looking for a better result this time!
