Two Europeans make it to the last eight

Day three of the YONEX Chinese Taipei Open has brought two European victories as Danish Women’s singles player Line Kjærsfeldt got the first win of the day for Europe.

The second came shortly after when fellow countryman Jan O’ Jorgensen qualified for the next stage of the competition after beating Indonesian Firman Abdul Kholk.

Unfortunately, two exits occurred and Danish Men’s Doubles, David Daugaard and Frederik Søgaard were narrowly beaten by the number seven seeds while Kim Bruun lost after a very close second game against Ajay Jayaram.


Kjærsfeldt ready for the Quarters

Line Kjærsfeldt is into the Quarter Finals of the tournament as the number three seed managed to get the better of Lin Ying Chun on home soil in straight games.

The Dane took the first game reasonably comfortably before making it straight games in the second where she won even more convincingly.

The ambitious 24-year old is set to play the number eight seed, Fitriani Fitriani from Indonesia tomorrow and she was feeling up for it!

- All smiles after 2 good wins and a quarterfinal tomorrow at the Chinese Taipei Open, Kjærsfeldt wrote on social media.


Jorgensen joins the last eight 

Danish Men’s Singles player Jan O’ Jorgensen managed to get into the Quarter Finals of the Chinese Taipei Open after a win against Firman Abdul Kholk.

lost a close first game before pegging his opponent back in the second before eventually won the match after taking the third game 21-13

The 30-year old could continue his attempt to win his first Taipei Open if he manages to beat Chen Chi Teng on home soil tomorrow.
