Cristian Savin, who has been training at Arnhem, one of Badminton Europe’s Certificated Training Centres (CTC), in Holland is ready for the Youth Olympics.
The Moldavian has played badminton since he was eight years of age and now will attend his first Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires which starts next week.
Ready for the big one!
Savin, speaking to Badminton Europe revealed that he can’t wait for the chance to represent his country at the Youth Olympics and believes it is so important for his career.
- I am very excited, to represent my country at the Youth Olympic Games.
- It is times like this which are the highlight of a junior’s career. I don’t know who will be in my group yet, but I will try very hard to win.
Preparation for the games
Savin has been training at Badminton Europe’s Certificated Training Centre in Holland to prepare for Buenos Aires.
Savin says that he will use the experience that the training centre has given him ahead of the Games.
- I would like to thank Badminton Europe for this opportunity, it has hopefully given me the best chance to develop as a player ahead of the Youth Olympics.
- The players at the centre were of a high class and it allowed me to have some good sparring sessions.
