Badminton Europe is excited to welcome Alexander Regel as the new Commercial Manager as another addition to the growing office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Alexander Regel, 28, joins the team at the Head Office, to strengthen the marketing techniques of Badminton Europe.

The Danish native takes on the new position following a career in both digital and print BtB marketing with strong, international brands such as Nespresso, Maxim and Nutrilett.

- This role was impossible to say no to! The combination of badminton and commercially oriented marketing in an international environment is such an intriguing opportunity, and I can’t wait to get involved with all our stakeholders and events.

A strong commercial foundation

In his new role, Regel will work towards strengthening the relationship with existing partners as well as exploring ways to attract new sponsors. He will also seek to improve the BEC digital platforms and overall digital offering.

- My key focus is to secure a strong commercial foundation for both Badminton Europe and our Member Associations. It is crucial that European badminton can continue to grow in the coming years to have representation among the best in the world and I look forward to contributing to this journey.

Sport as a career path

The commercial expert joins BEC with a Masters in Sports Marketing and Business Management from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England and looks forward to bringing new ideas to the table.

- I always relish the chance to combine my two biggest passions, marketing and sports, and I have followed this path both academically and professionally.

- The role of Commercial Manager at BEC fits perfectly into this ambition and it allows me to bring new perspectives and ideas to the team.
