After a flurry of exciting tournaments in Asia, several changes to the rankings can be seen. Following the Chinese Taipei Open this week, we will turn our attention to top level action on European soil with the Denmark and French Open.

After a sensational China Open title win, the Danish Men’s Doubles pair in top form, Kim Astrup and Anders Rasmussen have claimed the number one spot in Europe. Overtaking the two other Danish pairs in front of them, Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen, who haven’t played since the Japan Open. And marginally squeezing past Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mads Pieler Kolding. They now will be looking to consolidate this new position with a good run in their home open tournament.

Big home tournament
Another Dane, Jan O Jorgensen, who on the comeback trial has moved up into 7th position in the Men’s Singles. After the tight first round defeat to Lin Dan in Korea, Jorgensen will be hoping to continue his climb with good results in Taiwan and the Netherlands. Then he will have his big home tournament in Denmark from the 16th October, where he must give a good account of himself to keep the momentum.

Russia’s Evgeniya Kosetskaya in the Women’s Singles has had a busy schedule in recent months with a few positive results. As a result, she has moved up into 5th place.
