An amazing day for European badminton at the VICTOR China Open today with the Stoeva Sisters advancing to the Semi-Finals!

It was a great performance by Stefani and Gabriella Stoeva, coming up against the number three seeds for the tournament and winning over three games.

In an overall close match, their quality shun over Changzhou, on a great Quarter-Finals day for the continent!

The game plan

The Stoevas expected the match to be tough after playing their opponents in the past but tried to play without pressure.

- Well, the match was tough. We expected it to be a tough one because we have played one time with Chen and Jia and they won the match in straight games.

- We were just playing our own game and try not to put pressure on ourselves and to not make mistakes.

 - We have been working with our coach a lot on the attacking game I think this is helping us on this tournament especially against the Asian pairings like it was proven today!

It was time for revenge

After being beaten in straight games previously by Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan, the pair admitted that they did want to put the record straight.

Going into another tough match tomorrow in the semi-finals, they both believe that they need to remain more patient than ever, no matter who their opponent is.

- We wanted revenge but most of all, we were enjoying playing on the court and to be playing as we did in Japan.

- Tomorrow we should do the same as we did today on the court and we need to be more patient.
