Badminton Europe is happy to introduce Aidan Jones as a new member of the BEC office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Aidan Jones, 20, is currently studying sports journalism at the University of Huddersfield and is going to finish his degree next year. He decided to leave his home country to make a sandwich year at BEC in Copenhagen (Brøndby).

- I am looking forward to living in Denmark. Copenhagen is a wonderful city. I have been there on vacation a lot, as I have family living there. I have loved it every time.

Aidan grew up near Liverpool and is a big sports fan. He also wrote articles for two national and some local sports newspapers in England.

Worked as a volunteer for BEC
Furthermore, Aidan worked as a volunteer writer for Badminton Europe (BEC) since his first year of university.

- I met Rasmus Bech (Head of Communication at BEC) at the All England championship. When I got the chance to make a sandwich year I contacted him and asked if it would be possible to do an internship at Badminton Europe. And now I am happy to join the office.

New experiences
One of the reasons why Aidan chose this internship was to broaden his experience and knowledge in badminton.

- I am looking forward to working in a team in an office environment. That is completely new to me. I am also looking forward to new tasks. One of my strengths is to interview and contact players, I am looking forward to doing that.

During his volunteer work for BEC, Aidan already interviewed European badminton players such as Viktor Axelsen or Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl.

- If I would have to choose a favorite badminton player, it would be Viktor Axelsen. I spoke to him once. But I also like Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl even though they are both on maternity leave at the moment.
