In the third round of the mixed doubles event, Chris & Gabrielle Adcock have succeeded to earn a quarter final spot at the Total BWF World Championships. In straight games they were too strong for He Jiting and Du Yue (China).

- Yes!!! Happy with that performance! We defeated He Jiting & Du Yue 21-16, 21-16, the Adocks wrote on their facebook page

- Roll on the quarter finals @BWF World Championships!

The Adcocks were never in great trouble throughout the third round match. They will now try to continue their good game against second seeded Chinese pair Wang Yilyu and Huang Yaqiong.

No sweat for Mads & Mads

Besides the Adcocks, Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen (Denmark) are the other European pair who made it to the quarter finals. They beat Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai (Thailand) in three games and will now face no one else than Nan Zhang and Li Yinhui (China).

In the other doubles events it felt like a doom day for the European pairs. Almost all the European pairs found their Waterloo in the third round.

Luckily there are always good exceptions as Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mads Pieler Kolding had no problem beating upcoming Taiwanese pair Liao Min Chung and Su Ching Heng. In the quarter finals awaits them a tougher cookie in the form of Nan Zhang and Liu Cheng (China).
