Less than one week waiting until the World Championships in Nanjing! Most of the European players are doing their final preparation after a series of tournaments.

The last tournament of doubles player Marvin Emil Seidel (Germany), the Singapore Open, was somewhat disappointed for him.

- Unfortunately the tournament didn’t go as planned, as we really believed we could win a lot of matches here.

- The draw was good and we knew that we could beat all of our upcoming opponents.

Rest and prepare

The disappointing results in Singapore made Seidel realize what still needs to be done before the World Championships. And it turns out that taking a step back this week might not be a bad idea.

- The last few weeks we had hard training, because we prepared and still are preparing, for the World Championships. I think that that made the difference in the end.

- We are very tired right now and have to plan the upcoming days good, so that we can go in to the worlds fresh and fit.

Double action

Marvin Emil Seidel will compete in both men’s and mixed doubles at the World Championships. His partners in crime are Mark Lamsfuss and Linda Efler.

With Linda Efler he is currently number 20 of the World Ranking. In the first round they will face English pair Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh.

Seidel and Lamsfuss are now on spot 31 of the World Ranking in mixed doubles. They will try to overcome Jason Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura (Canada) in the first round of men’s doubles
