Badminton Europe's "Center of Excellence" player Jonathan Persson (Germany) has climbed four spots up on the men’s singles world ranking list, currently standing on position no. 128. He shared his thoughts with Badminton Europe:

- I feel satisfied that currently I am a bit higher ranked than I was a year ago. It’s the first time I have been able to play 10-12 international tournaments in one year. I have been struggling getting into the tournaments before, so now I am happy that my ranking is getting higher which is giving me a chance to get into more tournaments.

Semifinalist in Cameroon International 2018 and quarterfinalist in Cote D’Ivoire International 2018, Persson had higher expectations, however he had been struggling with an injury before playing those two tournaments.

- I was not very fit going to the last tournaments, maybe this is the reason why I didn’t make good results. My aim is to get into top 100 by the end of this year.

- I decided with the COE coaches that I will have a longer period of trainings and will start playing tournaments again at the end of August, Persson tells Badminton Europe.
